Zetech Titans shine in KUSA Soccer Final

The Zetech University football squad impressed in the recently held Kenya ​University Sports Association​ (KUSA) Finals in what turned out to be a heated competition in Taita Taveta County.

The team secured the number three position in the tournament that will see the top winners take part in East Africa games.

The team kicked off with a 1-0 win against Maseno University, followed by a 0-0 draw against the Technical University of Nairobi. The team then silenced Meru University 3-1 on Saturday, which saw the team qualify for the tournament’s quarter final round.

Thereafter, team successfully battled Pwani University for a spot in the semi finals, beating the coastal squad 1-0 to make it to the semis to play Machakos University. The Titans then bowed out in a 4-5 penalty shootout against Machakos in the final leg after a tightly fought contest.

Coach Bernard Kitolo lauded his gents for a great outing, noting that as new comers in the final games, the squad did well against seasoned teams, “The Titans had an impressive run throughout the season and we remain focused ​as we prepare for our next outing.”
