Covenant Clergy Alliance prays for peaceful electioneering year

Covenant clergy alliance pastors under the stewardship of Reverend Kariuki Ngari alias Gakuyo has expressed hope in conduction of free, fair and peaceful elections in August this year.

The group of pastors from all denominations noted that IEBC was well prepared and both political parties had Okayed IEBC to conduct the general elections.

Speaking during a 40 days prayer and fasting closing ceremony at Calvary Chosen Centre church, the pastors told politicians to desist from ethnic hates that would stage crisis.

‘Kenyans do not know another country but Kenya, we are urging politicians to preach peace, avoid spewing tribal hates to avert occurrence of crisis,’ said the alliance chairman David Kariuki Ngari.

Ngari lauded the government for extensive election preparations. ‘Jubilee has worked hard to ensure that Kenyans will remain peaceful even after the elections. The security preparations and earlier facilitation of IEBC is enough assurance that elections will be violent free and politicians will embrace the voice of Wanjiku,’ added Gakuyo.

While noting that the church was steadfast in praying for the nation, the pastors said Kenya was well managed. They singled out eviction of Alshabaab from Kenya, feeding of the hungry in dry areas of Kenya and good relations between the church and the government.

‘We are praying and we will continue praying for the nation, there will be no bloodshed in Kenya. Our country belongs to Jesus and not even the election will shake Kenya,’ noted Ark bishop Ng’ang’a Ndua from The Holy Spirit church.

‘We are urging Kenyans to be peaceful, love one another and pursue all areas that would stage havoc in the country. We are standing with the current government and the leadership of President Uhuru,’ pastor Lucy Wangui said
